CAFF

The Community Alliance with Family Farmers (CAFF) is building a movement of rural and urban people to foster family-scale agriculture that cares for the land, sustains local economies and promotes social justice.

Hungry for local food? Find farm-fresh lettuce, juicy oranges or locally made bread in your area by searching our online local food guide - brought to you by the Buy Fresh, Buy Local Campaign.

CUESA

CUESA was organized in 1994 to educate urban consumers about sustainable agriculture and to create links between urban dwellers and the farmers who practice sustainable agriculture in the Bay Area.

CUESA is dedicated to promoting a sustainable food system through the operation of the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market and its educational programs. Urban education about sustainable agriculture is a vital part of preserving the health of the environment for both urban and rural dwellers. What happens in farmlands profoundly affects the environment of urban dwellers as well.

Marin Organic

Marin Organic is an association of organic producers in Marin County whose livelihood is based on a respect for nature and a sense of place. As the primary link between farmers and eaters, Marin Organic is committed to promoting and supporting a sustainable, organic county in which growers and the people who rely on them recognize their mutual interdependence.

Founded in 1999, Marin Organic's mission focuses on the environmental soundness and economic viability of farming and ranching in Marin County. Its members include such well-known names as Cowgirl Creamery, makers of award-winning organic cheeses, Star Route Farms, the oldest continuously certified organic farm in California, and Straus Family Creamery, the first organic dairy west of the Mississippi.

Next Course

Nextcourse improves the health of individuals and communities by designing innovative and collaborative educational programs that inspire people to purchase, cook and eat healthier, locally produced foods.

We strive to serve youth and low-income communities. Meaningful and lasting partnerships with like-minded organizations will strengthen our methods, and create communities that value healthy, affordable fresh foods. Educating people about healthy food is only part of the equation. We also want to inspire and motivate people to action-to become stewards for a better local food system by recognizing and responding to ways to improve the food in their communities, be that a home, neighborhood, school, or even a jail.

Om Organics

The mission of Om Organics is to increase the demand for sustainable agriculture in the San Francisco Bay Area by educating the community on the health, environmental and economic benefits of local, sustainable food production. By helping people appreciate and access sustainably grown products in the local region, and by helping farms better meet the needs of the community.

Using our site, consumers, chefs, farmers and advocates can easily access educational information about organics and sustainability and transform that knowledge into action by using our comprehensive directory to find and use seasonal, sustainably grown foods...as well as attend hundreds of food and farming events around town.

Roots of Change

Roots of Change (ROC) is a collaborative of diverse leaders and institutions unified in common pursuit of achieving a sustainable food system in California by 2030. ROC is an emerging alliance; its purpose and beliefs will continue to evolve as the community of allies grows.

Across California, farmers, eaters, health advocates, chefs, business owners, policy makers and many more are forming an alliance to create a sustainable food system for our state in one generation. Twenty-seven food system leaders from across the State are now hard at work creating strategies to implement a sustainable food system in California.

San Francisco Food Systems>

San Francisco Food Systems was formed as a private-public partnership in order to address food systems issues within the City and County of San Francisco through action research projects, policy planning and recommendations.

These efforts support and evaluate sustainable and positive structural change in environmental conditions with the goal of bridging San Francisco residents with the food system. In doing so, underlying root causes of adverse health affects from food insecurity and hunger can been reduced to ensure the health and well being of our population.
